born 1958 in Brooklyn, NY
raised 1964-1976 in seacoast towns of New Hampshire
local spelling bee champion: North Hampton, NH, 1970-1971; NH Seacoast regional 1972
adopted the Christian faith in 1974
attended college at UNH 1976-1979; graduated summa with a BS in Mathematics (Computer Science); minor in German.
enrolled at Harvard in 1979
was baptized Catholic in 1980
received the SM in Applied Mathematics (Computer Science) in 1980
continued grad studies until 1981
worked 1982-1992 as a programmer and system manager for Wentworth Institute
Have studied French, German, Latin, Polish, and Spanish (to varying degrees of competency)
